'Influencing Policies to Support the Empowerment of Women and Girls' is a collaborative research programme with a number of leading research partners across the globe, led by IDS. The main aim of the research is to examine how to build an enabling environment for the empowerment of women and girls on three gender-justice themes.

The ‘Balancing unpaid care work and paid work: successes, challenges and lessons for women’s economic empowerment programmes and policies’ project aims to create knowledge about how women’s economic empowerment (WEE) policy and programming can generate paid work that empowers women and provides more support for their unpaid care work responsibilities. The project is part of the wider 11-project GrOW programme.

Highlighting the Invisibility of Unpaid Care was a three year project, part of the Gender, Power and Sexuality Programme at IDS. The project was exploring why unpaid care work has merited little attention in development policy and programming.
